New SEAT Leon

If you’re looking for a hatchback that’s fun to drive, practical and stylish, look no further than the SEAT Leon. Now in its fourth generation, this accomplished family car is available in six great trim levels, starting with the well-equipped SE and peaking with the fully loaded XCELLENCE. It’s also greener than ever, offering a plug-in hybrid option for those who want to enjoy standout performance without unduly impacting the environment.

Exterior

This bold and contemporary hatch boasts a number of eye-catching features as standard. For instance, full LED headlights are inset with dynamic indicator lights on selected models, bringing a modern touch to the front end, while a coast-to-coast light spans the width of the rear, creating a striking effect at night. The aesthetic is enhanced with a choice of bright paint colours, including Desire Red and Urban Silver, and each trim level boasts its own unique alloy wheel design with sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches.

Interior

The latest SEAT Leon is bigger than previous iterations, which is good news for back-row occupants, in particular. Certainly, there’s no lack of head, knee and legroom in both compartments, and front seats offer plenty of adjustability options, making it easy to get comfy. Meanwhile, a 380-litre boot space expands to 1,210 litres with 60/40 split-folding rear seats dropped.

Personalisation is a key feature in any SEAT and the Leon is no different. Upholstery options include cloth and leather, while wraparound ambient lighting brings a touch of colour and sophistication to the ride.

Technology and safety

Installed with a minimum-size 8.25-inch touchscreen and a seven-speaker sound system, the Leon offers plenty of multimedia options. Enjoy a range of music and speech-based content via the car’s AM/FM tuner or DAB radio, or stream your favourite audio via Bluetooth, which also enables hands-free telephony. Meanwhile, Android/Apple smartphone mirroring is made possible with the SmartLink system.

A maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating is a sure indication of the SEAT Leon’s safety credentials. The vehicle is fitted with an array of protective features, including cruise control, Lane Assist, and the innovative Front Assist system, which significantly reduces the risk of frontal collisions.

Performance

Whether you prefer the low-range pull of a petrol or the seamless high-speed cruise of a diesel, the SEAT Leon has an engine to suit. The FR model offers the punchiest drive, whisking you from 0-62mph in just 8.4 seconds, while the 2.0-litre diesel unit delivers as little as 117g/km of CO2. For those who want to slash their emissions, there’s a powerful yet efficient plug-in hybrid option, which delivers an all-electric range of 40 miles and emissions of just 27-28g/km.
